We have redacted key information due to the sensitivity of this project and to provide anonymity to the client.

Our management team supported the delivery of mechanical engineering elements of a new build hospital. We assisted with the project management throughout the design and construction of the works, providing additional supervisory resources to support the principal contractor’s site team.

We were specifically responsible for the management and supervision of several specialist systems, those being LTHW (Low Temperature Hot Water), plant and boiler room layouts, fire suppression systems, and fuelling processes. Based on performance requirements, we specified and detailed the interfacing of the various systems and developed MTOs (Material Take Offs). Our design office activities included the development of coordinated services drawings, installation details and information in support of the main testing and inspection plan. We also provided and updated master programmes with detailed procurement and lead time information.

Whilst the principal contractor had undertaken general off-site clash detection, it was inevitable that on a project as large and complex as a hospital, some on-site system and routing clashes would occur. To save time sending information back to the design office, we had supervision that could assess clashes and coordinate with the principal contractor and installers of other specialist systems. System changes and the rerouting of services could occur swiftly without impact to the overall programme. Subsequently, As Built information was captured to inform and update the overall design.

Our management team were fully integrated into the principal contractor’s staff, working closely with project stakeholders and suppliers to ensure that project timescales were met, and deliverables provided on time. We provided regular and accurate information to update construction programmes and ensure that the installation remained on plan, to relevant standards and to the highest quality.

Whilst we were not responsible for the management of costs on this scheme, we are always extremely conscious that planned outputs are met and that the baseline earn value is achieved. As a matter of course, we continued to monitor resources and keep material reconciliation records.

Whilst ReSolv3D® are not a construction company, we can manage and supervise the installation of system that we have detailed, or we can provide specialist management consultancy services to support a clients existing project management team.
